The hubster has the worse teeth I have ever seen and that's saying something because my dad has had dentures for at least a half a century.
So last week he has a cap fall off, he goes to the dentist with these instruction, NO ROOT CANAL or any other expensive thing. I'm not a tyrant but we are all ready paying three other dentists for work in the last five years. We like this guy we are going to now, hopefully we won't end up owing him an arm or leg, or even a toenail. The hubster also has instructions to call me with the bad/good (it's usally bad) news.
Our conversation:
Me: "You didn't get a root canal did you?"
Hubster: "No, but (I'm holding my breath on the but) there is a cavity under the gums, so they took some x-rays to see what is going on and he wants to meet with us next Tuesday at 8:00 a.m. (WHAT, it's spring break I don't get up that early on a vacation day!!!)
Me: "Grrrreeeeaaaatt!" big sigh.
So flash forward to today, we meet with the dentist after our car overheats three times on the way there, it is less than 32 degrees so why, we didn't know, now we do (leaking water pump).
He shows us the x rays and explains that he can pull the two teeth that are the worst and fill two other teeth that can wait a while. My hubster is instantly aware he is going to be without teeth on one side for a while.
He wants to know what can be done, I say, "nothing right now" . He doesn't like that, so the dentist shows him the falsies (I don't mean those other implants). I say again "NO, you will have to eat soft food". The hubster tries to go back around to the dentures. NOT happening buddy boy. End of discussion.
Then, there is a long discussion about the blood thinner and what we should do. Of course, since he hasn't been taking it like he should we should pull those suckers today and I bet no blood is going to come out anyway.
Then I find out fantastic news, because of the blood thinner, I also
get to I mean have to take the day off so I can watch the wounds for excessive bleeding, did I hear right a DAY OFF! (oh terrible news, shucks, darn, gosh) YIPPEEEE!!! Where's the cake let's celebrate, whoops I mean commiserate that I won't be working that day. Let's take a moment of silence (loud cheering) and drop a tear (of happiness) and of course have cake, only me on the cake cause the hubster's teeth shouldn't have sugar (poor man).
Oh I'd like to thank the
accademy, I mean the dentist, let him eat cake!!!!!
